Hi I am Ed Meredith and I thought you might be interested to know a little background to how Bargain Magic Books came to exist!

It all started back around 2014, when my good friend Michael Diamond mentioned Paul Cooke to me. It turned out that Paul had with Steve Short brought the entire stock of Magic Books by Post. Paul and Steve had continued running Magic Books by Post, Paul had then brought out Steve's interest in the company and continued running it independently.

For various reasons after a couple of years the business had stopped trading and all the stock had laid in storage for a number of years. Paul was now looking to sell the inventory.

Michael was aware of the situation and knowing my love of books (I have always dealt in Circus and related ephemera since my teens) thought that Paul and I should at least talk to each other. So one sunny winter's day I found myself in the wilds of Lincolnshire looking at a library/display room and 5 x 40'containers full of pallets of books, that had not seen the light of day for many years. A real treasure trove of stock that you only come across, if you are lucky, once in a lifetime!

A deal was struck and I started to help sell the stock, learn what was there and then ultimately buy the remaining stock myself! It took 2 years to sort through everything in between running my own business. Eventually a container of stock went to Murphy's, the rest was moved to Essex in three lorry loads and is now slowly been added to this website.

It's a labour of love which has taken me on a crazy fun journey for the last five years! There are nearly 2000 titles to list ranging from some real one off gems to other titles which are in abundance.

Finally as I write this in April 2020, I now have time to start adding more titles each week, hopefully everything will be listed by the end of the Summer.
